About
The mountain exists in me, and I am the mountain.
A second-generation Chinese American, born and raised in Los Angeles County, I immediately felt at home when I began studying Chinese landscape painting in 2019. Since then, I have trained with local and international Chinese artists in Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, China.
Currently based in Los Angeles, I am interested in exploring themes of spirituality, femininity, and healing through the natural and abstract. The history of Chinese landscapes has been dominated by men. I am interested in exploring how the feminine view landscapes, particularly with our bodies, and how my positionality as a woman accesses and can expand the spiritual wisdom that previous male Chinese landscape artists have been privy to for centuries.
